Why did I not get credit for using a gift card?

You do not earn rewards Points for the portion of a purchase made with a gift card (or a portion of a purchase made with a gift card), only the portion that is billed to your debit card or credit card. However, you can earn Points when you purchase a gift card. This is to avoid double points being earned by the purchaser and the gift card receiver, regardless of who purchased the gift card.
